Title: HASA bike; buying?
Description: Advice required

Okay recently right
I came about this HASA made bike which is fully suspended,
its price was reasonably cheap!!! it was $500+ below 550
HOWEVER
I do thinik there MIGHT be a possibility that the bike ... well
could have some bad factors
especially that the shop owner did tell me about HASA not being an international brand and their parts are of course not as good as those made by GIANT or GT
Anyone who has experience with HASA bikes or at least know something about them , advice please? lol thanks :!) [ good or bad, all welcomed. especially the bad please! ]

why not give us your budget? let us all help you decide on a bike?

hasa may not be international brand but they are still quite good
500+ probably you will get some entry level drivetrain
i think the fork and shock will not be that good
if budget 500+, y not go for a hardtail?

Ive got not much problem for a budget... im the type that just
pays for good quality but of course im not willing to pay high prices...
but yeah i guess i shall keep my budget at around 500-700
Im actually lookin for a XC cos i already have a ful sus DH bike but it's starting to make abitttt of crackin/ squeeks sounds whenever i start pedallin hard
what exactly is a hardtail?

what riding will u be doing? best to get a bike that suits what ur doing..
and a hardtail is just a bike that dusnt have rear sus..
hence "hard" (no sus) "tail" (back end)..
as u go on youll find a lot of bike terms are quite literal actually :P

i would be doing mostly long distance but rough riding too
rough riding at most downhill grassy+ non smooth + staircasing riding la since singapore isnt much of a DH'in place...
but rear suspension i dont think is really needed right?
Cos rear is [IMO] for comfort and maybe if im doing REAL DH'in and the frame needs the suspension otherwise it'll go break
So i guess takin out the rear sus would make it lighter for me and of course save my cash?
And for my specialized bike [ A specialized bike] i was planning on giving it a 3K budget cos i know its price so .. yeap.

Rear Sus for DH is to gain traction and not to cushion impact lar... since you want a little of here and there. Why not try out the Santa Cruz Chameleon? with a Budget of 3k i think you can build a complete bike. Furthermore the Frame is rather strong iirc. Just an advice Light parts doesnt come cheap

of course i knw light parts dont come cheap ..
yeah if seen a few santa cruz'es and i like it cos their name's are pretty cool too!!! :P
Especially one guy called johnny in this forum who has it right? pretty cool bikes
But ...
I was interested when i saw the new suspension [ i dono if its new but i just heard of it] technology from trek
Was when that the back wheel goes over something, the rear suspension would move the whole rear frame, WHICH WAS PRETTY COOL!!
Anyone know anything about it?
And i think from this point , i should give up my hope for HASA bikes cos their pretty... not good?

I think the whole rear triangle do move in a full sus...
be it Spealized or something...
the chameleon i recommend to you is a Hard tail and not a full sus...
Johnny had a Blur LT if IIRC and Donny used to own a Bullit...
They are fine bike...
if you want a HASA, all i would say its an entry level bike...
haven recall seeing it being well spec yet...
