i went to the bike shop and said fork oil... they immediately said don't have. They'd definitely suggest the stanchion lube to me if they had it....

actually stanchion oil isnt really going to help a lot for a fork that has hydraullic damping right? -> pls correct me if im wrong but was told by an LBS

It's not fork oil, it called finish line stanchion lube.

Fork oil is fork oil, totally different from stanchion lube.

Anyways saw one last bottle at this shop.

No, not true. It works on fork with damper too.

It works by reducing stiction caused by the fork seals, especially when new.

Even for seasoned/break in fork, the adding of the lube will extend the life of your fork seals by reducing stiction & friction.

Because fork seals & dust caps are meant to keep water & dust etc from going into your fork & contaminate your fork oil which will thus effect your damper.

The seals to do it's function, therefore will produce stiction & friction between the stanchion & seals. Therefore also wear & tear of the seals.
