BALTANAS, Spain — After breaking his right collarbone Monday, Texan Lance Armstrong faces his first serious obstacle since his return to professional cycling: whether he can recover fast enough to compete in two of the sport's most prestigious events.
Armstrong, a seven-time Tour de France winner who took 3-½ years off before coming back this season, had planned to race in his first Giro d'Italia, which begins May 9, before competing in the Tour de France in July.
Armstrong, 37, has about seven weeks to heal before the Giro.
